ABOUT AUTHOR

About Author

Karen “Jo” Weber lives in Oklahoma, with her devoted husband, Chris, her amazing and beautiful daughter, Casey, and a, mischievous Maltipoo, named Elsa.

She grew up in Etowah, North Carolina, where she lived a magical childhood.  It was at Etowah Baptist Church, where she gave her life to Christ Jesus, at the age of eight. A graduate of Mars Hill College, she completed her Bachelor of Music in Music Education. In 1986 she completed her Masters of Science degree from the University of Illinois. After graduating she became the Choral Director for Asheville Junior and Senior High Schools. Following this, she owned two businesses - Daystar Handcrafted Creations by Jo and Daystar Photography by Jo.

Currently her passion is writing poetry and prose.

Through the many challenges and trials of life, she learned many lessons. She learned that even with almost four decades of chronic pain and numerous health problems, that her Savior has been by her side - crying with her, mourning with her, and holding her up, when she did not feel she could bear any more. The bible says, “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book." (Ps 56:8, NLT) As she grows in Christ, she is forever touched by His compassion for her, and his prodding her to never give up, to share His love with others, and, "to fight the good fight of faith." (1 Tim 6:12, NIV)

Although not all her poems are inspirational, her goal in life is to always magnify the Lord and inspire others

TESTIMONIALS

Testimonials

"This is an interesting and inspirational collection of poetry. I was particularly drawn to those in the “Dedications.” You make us take a look at people we may encounter yet pass by every day, as well as heroes such as those who “serve and protect.” You paint a vivid picture of those at a senior day-care center that makes me want to know them.

You open your book with poems dealing with your personal experiences with pain. Many readers either experience chronic pain or know someone who does. You provide a new perspective on this important issue."

"These poems organized effectively into sections, speak of pain, loss, faith, family and love in such a way to inspire your readers and assure them that there is hope and promise in life. Humbly articulated and sometimes intricately expressed, these emotional poems serve as a poignant testimony of God's work in your life."
